robotcowboy: cabled madness

2/6 Isla Vista CA

picsEDIT: Disclaimer, Laromlab’s music is all stolen. Read here.

We drove from LA to Santa Barbara on Pacific Coast Highway and stopped at a beach to catch the sunset and dip our hands in the Pacific. That makes two on the tour counting the Atlantic in St. Augustine … we missed the Gulf in LA, TX.

Isla Vista is basically on campus at UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara) and seems to be a large apartment / dorm area for students. There are lots of bikes and skateboards while very few parking spots … so many cars around. The show was in the garage at a co-op, student community house called the BI-KO, which is quite awesome.

We played with some local acts: Teddy, Wildman Steve, and MC Phatskillz. Teddy played sampling, electro-ambience; Wildman Steve hit us with his funky, gameboy destruction; and MC Phatskillz brought the electribal electrobump. Our sets went well and people were really into it .. in fact they were into everything at it was awesome. This was a great show, but no one asked for donations so it was a great show for free :P.

We stayed with Ted and crew and I had a super delicious burrito at the place right across from their house.
